Are teenagers really invincible?

Maybe not all teenagers, but some of them, like me, seem impervious to unhealthy food. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I feel comfortable eating just about anything I want and rarely feel sick or fat or anything. My weight has hovered around 150 for my entire adolescence. I am not a food glutton; it's not like I eat at Wendy's five times a week, drink 2 sodas a day, and cringe at the sight of salad. I try to keep a balance of what I indulge in at the Cannon Center, going to the grill only when it is most convenient and having a salad once or twice a week. However, my parents some seriously annoying food regulations.

My dad developed an allergy about 2 years ago, and did not know what it was. Finally about 4 months ago he discovered it was probably tomatoes, so now he cannot have tomatoes. This is a real shame, because he loves Mexican food, but salsa is a no-go. Also, any spices or mixes that have tomato powder are off-limits too. My mom feels sick to her stomach whenever she has dairy products. That means no milk or cheese, which is in a surprising amount of food. At dinner she usually drinks water, lemonade, or more recently, rice milk (which I think actually tastes pretty good).

I just hope I don't develop either of these allergies. I love milk, I love mexican food, and the thought of giving them up is kinda scary.

I am amazed by those who suddenly develop food allergies and have to give up the things they've loved for so long. Kudos to your folks for putting their health first!

whoa dude! It must be really nice to be eating away from home! I concur, soy milk isn't half bad. I don't know rice milk, though.

why does the computer make you retype words before you can comment on a posting? I don't understand.
