I never look forward to revising. I like to think that what I have written the first time was coherent enough, because, you know, I wrote it and all, I'm a smart person, I know how English works, it should be plenty intelligent. And then I go back and realize I said some totally ridiculous things, sentences were fragmented, points were missing, and all other sorts of dumb mistakes. If I had not revised, that would have been the impression I gave on my intelligence, and it is not quite accurate (I hope). Has this happened to you?
Other times, though, I have written just a first draft, glanced through it once, handed it in, and received an B or even sometimes an A. Of course that was in HIGH SCHOOL, where intelligence is not required. I revise my writing as I go, and will often go back to previous sentences. If I just rush-write and don't really think about it, my later revising is near impossible. I can't fix something so broken! Bugs me a lot.

I have to think when I write too, I always take a few moments to gather my thoughts for rush-writes in Freshman Seminar.
PS: You guys sounded really at the devotional good today!
YES that has happened to me. The most hilarious papers are the ones written in the wee-morning hours...
I think my revision process has been stunted because so often in high school I could get away--with a great grade--with papers written the night, morning, or hour before it was due.
ha, i know exactly what you mean. I never ever revised in high school so this has been quite an experience
